VW Lupo: New intel about next generation

In the latest issue of the AUTO BILD Magazine, the German journalists have published the first details and image of the 2012 Volkswagen Lupo which will hit the market in the summer of 2011. The 2012 Volkswagen Lupo is based on the VW Up! concept which was premiered back in September 2007.

The 2-door 2012 Volkswagen Lupo will measures 3.45 meters in length and fits perfectly in the company's quest to offer small models, with a low fuel consumption, that can fit in almost any parking space.

The engines offered with the 2012 Volkswagen Lupo include the 1.0-liter 3 cylinder engine developing 60hp which will be joined after the
launch by a 1.0-liter TFSI 4 cylinder engine developing 85 hp. The 2012 Volkswagen Lupo will also be offered with 1.2 TDI diesel engine with 3 cylinders developing 75 hp.

The 2012 Volkswagen Lupo price will start at 8500 EUR and the new model will go on sale next summer.

After the launch of the 2-door version of the 2012 Volkswagen Lupo, the company also plans to offer a four-door version, which will be slightly longer.
VW hopes to sell around 600,000 units of the new 2012 Volkswagen Lupo each year.
