Audi R8 GT Spyder teased for Frankfurt debut

Like a fine wine, the Audi R8 is getting better with age as the company has just released the first sketches of the GT Spyder.

Essentially a lightweight model, the GT Spyder will be distinguished by a matt titanium grille, a carbon fiber front splitter, and LED headlights. Other goodies include an aggressive rear diffuser, a carbon fiber rear wing, and unique 19-inch alloy wheels.

Power will be provided by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that develops 560 PS (412 kW / 553 hp) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. It will likely enable the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in approximately 3.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 311 km/h (193 mph).

Production is rumored to be capped at 333 units. More details will likely be revealed in the run-up to the Audi R8 GT Spyder's official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
