Audi is rumored to be developing a supercar to slot above the infamous R8.
This new model would take its cue from the winning Le Mans R18. The most likely power plant with the electric flywheel would be a V8 since the V12 Diesel was considered too heavy a few years prior. Audi technical development chief Wolfgang Durheimer said "there is definitely room for a super sports car above the R8" and if produced with a Diesel Hybrid? he said "it could be a hot-seller".
