2015 Volkswagen Scirocco Intel

When VW brought the Scirocco back, its design was met with mixed emotions. Many said it was not a real Scirocco but just an alternate GTI because it was too much a hatchback and not enough coupe like the original.

With the next version currently underway, group head of design Walter de Silva shared some insight at the New York auto show. He was quoted saying “It must be completely different... Completely. We don’t want to repeat the body style, we want to change that.” He also admitted the next version will have more of a sportier appearance like Audi and Seat.

Volkswagen will bring the 'new' Scirocco in 2015. North America missed out on the Scirocco last time, but it's rumored that this next model will make its way across the pond and is being developed with that in mind.

Porsche Cayman Track Edition on the way?

There have been plenty of rumors involving the new Cayman. The latest suggests that a GT3-style Cayman could be developed.

Chief engineer of the 911 GT3 Andreas Preuninger said testing for a track edition Cayman has already been done. Porsche has all the data they need, and it's up to the top executives to decide if it's a go. However, when Preuninger was asked further he responded saying “I like mid-engined car... nothing more needs to be said.”

Also, with the new GT3 only available with PDK this does satisfy the option for a manual transmission track version Porsche and catering to the purists.

Audi has finally shown the new production A3 and S3 sedan. The A3 sedan will come with an array of different engine options (mainly 1.8L TSI, 2.0L TSI, and 2.0L TDI). It will go on sale in Europe late summer to early autumn and priced around €25,000 ($32,150 US). The quattro S3 sedan has the 2.0L TSI producing nearly 300hp taking only 4.9 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) with S tronic. Europe will be able to purchase the S3 sedan in winter. 2014 Porsche Macan renderings

New Macan renderings have surfaced, this time looking more like the real deal. Of course there is nothing official from Porsche, as we have to wait until the Autumn 2013 debut. However, these images do have some Porsche DNA to them (except the tail lamps - too Lexus in my opinion). Enjoy!

Imagining Audi's First Motorcycle

Since Audi acquired Ducati, there has been speculation that the four-rings from Ingolstadt would develop their own motorcycle. Perhaps to create even more competition to rival BMW? With nothing official from Audi for future plans of a two-wheeler, that didn't stop a former design intern. French designer Thibault Devauze created this project after visiting the Audi museum looking at DKW bikes (part of Auto Union).
Power is suggested to come from Ducati with its 850cc 2-Cylinder and double-clutch transmission. He use of light weight materials would include carbon-fiber, aluminum, and titanium.
While this is still all in theory, we hope Audi is paying attention!

2014 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Says Goodbye to Manual Gearbox

Porsche has confirmed what most feared for the GT3 RS. It will NOT be offered with a manual gearbox any longer. The new upcoming 'RS' will only be fitted with Porsches dual-clutch PDK gearbox. While it does produce quicker shifts, there is something to be said about rowing through the gears connecting the driver.

KTM X-BOW with the heart of an Audi?

The KTM X-BOW will undergo a heart transplant from donor Audi. As if the X-BOW wasn't exhilarating enough, KTM has announced that Audi's 2.5L I5-Cylinder Turbo will be fitted to the chassis bringing even more soul performance. This is the same engine found in the TT-RS and RS3, which rips it up on the track. There's no telling how fast it will be with such minimal weight. KTM will have to lengthen the wheelbase slightly. No word on release date, price, or performance but expect some mind-blowing figures.

Volkswagen Shows First R-Line for the Mk7

Volkswagen debuted the all new Golf Variant in Geneva, and as a preview of things to come they introduced the first R-Line in concept form. The Golf Variant is fairly evolutionary, but the new bumper/skirts/rear diffuser tell a different story. We expect this styling to make its way to the next R-Line Golf and possible SportWagen. It is different enough from the GTI/GTD and not bold enough for the Golf R. The clean lines bring a classic sporty german styling in a subtle way.
