Volkswagen Jetta Alltrack Coming?

Several rumors are suggesting that VW will introduce a Jetta Alltrack next year. Modeled after the Audi Allroad, the Jetta Alltrack will have all-wheel-drive, higher ground clearance, larger wheels, fender flares, and modified bumpers. There is even talk that it could launch in the US in December 2014. A market that did not receive the Passat Alltrack. Volkswagen is said to be targeting Subaru customers.
These renderings of the Golf from artist Theophilus Chin provide a great example of what could be.

Porsche 918 4-Door Coming? (984)

A new report has surfaced that Porsche is developing a 2+2 model based on the 918 Spyder. Using a stretched version of the carbon fiber chassis will allow room for the two extra seats and doors.
Chief designer Michael Mauer has already created a full size concept and it's said to have a very 911/918 look with an extremely low roofline.
Known internally as the 984, it stands for: 9 = sports car classification, 8 = number of cylinders, 4 = number of seats.
The mid-mounted 4.6L V8 with twin-turbo is rumored to produce around 700hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. They are even considering a hybrid version. Using a 7-speed PDK power would be sent to the rear wheels. The goal to keep the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time under 3 seconds with a total curb weight around 3,100 pounds.
If it receives the green light it could launch in 2017. Pricing is thought to be around 350,000€ ($467,460 US).

2014 Volkswagen Golf R Revealed

This is the all new Golf R for 2014!
VW has released these images, and we're told the car will debut in just 2 weeks at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The all-wheel drive 4MOTION model comes with 300hp, and posts an impressive 0-100 km/h (0-62mph) in 4.9 seconds with DSG (manual 6-speed will also be offered with 5.2 sec).
The exterior has restyled R-Line front and rear bumpers with quad exhaust pipes out the rear. In R fashion, the LED tail lamps have been darkened and the front DRL's included four lights. One thing new to note are the matte chrome mirror covers taking a cue from the Audi S and RS series. Inside it will offer plenty of R logos and Alcantara bolstered seats with optional Nappa leather.
Expect all the technical data to follow upon its debut, but compared to the last R this new model has a lower/stiffer suspension, 18% better fuel economy, four electronic differentials, and a long list of new technical gadgets.
Almost shockingly subtle though, this Golf R doesn't have the looks of previous R models but the numbers are hard to ignore. Volkswagen missed the mark for styling as this is not aggressive enough for an R model. It's supposed to be their most race version for the street and stand apart from the GTI. Unless VW has a trick up their sleeve, it will be interesting to see how enthusiasts take to the new model. It does leave the option open for that highly desired (and rumored) Golf RS?
It will go on sale in Europe this October with sales in the U.S. a year later. Pricing will begin at €38,325 (around $37,000 US).

2014 Volkswagen Golf R teaser

Volkswagen R GMBH has teased the first image of the all new Mk7 Golf R.
The sinister photo reveals little, but provides two clues. First, 'R kommt' which hints that it could debut in a few weeks at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Second, is the number 300 which is believed the number of horsepower. It's widely rumored that the Golf R's engine will be the same from the Audi S3.
